I’m glad you did this. Theatre won’t die with scratch events like this happening in Glasgow. Whoever made this idea is a genius and should be crowned & celebrated in the whole theatre world. As a recent graduate who graduated last year who was panicking about being a writer & actor. It’s just made me believe in Scottish theatre again. It was a lovely atmosphere, with lovely people and fantastic actors & writers showcasing their pieces for the first time. Thank you!

This is the kind of night that Glasgow so desperately needs. May there be many many more.

_and friends has been such a blessing for us at Gaun Yersel’, especially with the relaunch workshops this year, but also throughout our entire tenure. It’s a huge space with plenty of room to play, and is perfectly located, plus the support and enthusiasm from their team has been so wonderful & essential. They are true believers in art and community, and are offering much-needed rehearsal and development space and support for Glasgow creatives, which is invaluable in these tricky times! We’re so lucky to be working with them & we canny recommend them enough!! 🤩

_and friends has been invaluable to us in the early stages of our development. Cat and the team have been nothing but supportive and generous, and there is no question that having this rehearsal space in place helped us to secure funding for our work. Space is rare. Space that is conducive to a good rehearsal is even rarer. To also have that space facilitated by a team like this makes it a gem in the Glasgow theatre community.
Eleanor Felton, Director
Finding rehearsal space in the city is maybe the most difficult part of being a small theatre company. Renting out space is the surest way to drain a company before doors even open on the show day, and it can leave you with minimal budget for the show itself, if not leaving an otherwise successful show in the negative. _and friends provides us with a reliable, safe, focused place to rehearse and saves us from figuring out how to stage a show in a pub function room or squeezed into someone's living room. Free rehearsal space allows us to focus on the art being made, and that gives us resources to be more ambitious.
